Turn unused rooftop conservatory into a blacked out home cinema room.
ROOFTOP CONSERVATORY CONVERTED TO A HOME CINEMA
Having completed work for this client before we were asked if we could turn an unused rooftop glass room into a rooftop cinema hideaway. The unusual layout of full length Bi-Fold doors either side of a long rectangle glass roof created us with a challenge.
After my initial meeting with the client we decided that the construction of a custom cabinet would be ideal, this let us integrate the speakers and hardware in the perfect location for a 120′ concealed electric screen to drop down perfectly.
First off we pre-wired for lighting, underfloor heating, outside LED lighting and of course the AV system infrastructure. We then custom built the cabinet onsite and cut-out speaker housings and cable entry points.
We also future proofed the room with a custom cable bundle pulled down through three floors to the utility room, this gave us hard wired internet and 4K video feeds. As the building relies on a dated communal reception system we fitted a discrete digital reception platform to become independent. Motorised black out blinds finished off this room to complete a very enjoyable project.
